Ancestors (of blood and spirit) are extremely important in both Hellenismos (and other Reconstructionist-oriented pagan religions, if I understand them correctly) and the varieties of Druidry that I am involved in; my wife is heavily into genealogical research, at least partly as a spiritual practice.

The only other religion that I know of that places an equal importance on Ancestors (of both kinds) is Judaism; tying all this together in her own context, Rachel at Velveteen Rabbi offers this reflection on the week’s Torah portion.
